Ivy had to be put down in June, good thing we came back home from vacation to deal with it.
The early season was hot and long.
Luna is getting old, she's 11 and 1 year post cancer surgery. She runs fast, but getting tired. Once the weather cooled down, she can run for 1 hour, 5-7 km. She finds lots of birds and is doing great. She was limping on front right leg, so I hunted Liza alone for 2 weeks. The limp was gone, but now Nov 15 is back after walking/running local trail.
Liza is doing great, she hunts alone well, finds birds, points well. She retrieves, but chewing the birds and drops them close to me, while she brings my socks to hand while bored at home.
Oct 12: I finally hit 2 woodcock today. It was pure poetry, Liza pointed, Luna honored, beautiful morning sun, fall colors and I hit the bird flying away 😁
Oct 21 was the best day: flushed 12 (I think) wc today in 1.5 hours, same spot near Newmarket
Today was the best day this season and probably in a few years.
I was only hunting my youngest dog, as her mom is limping very badly.
The conditions were perfect - wet, some breeze. The dog worked really well and I even managed to hit some birds.
One innocent tree fell victim too.
